Caring For Your Stone
A simple care and maintenance routine will help keep your natural stones’ timeless elegance looking beautiful forever. Here are a few recommendations for every day cleaning.
- Clean stone surfaces with a few drops of a neutral cleaner, soap stone, or a mild dishwashing detergent and warm water.
- DO NOT use products that contain lemon, vinegar, or other acids as they could etch the polish.
- DO NOT use scouring powders or creams—these can scratch the surface. Rinse the surface thoroughly after washing with soap and dry with a soft cloth.
- DO blot up spills immediately. Use coasters under all glasses—especially those that contain alcohol or citrus juice.
- DO NOT place hot items directly on the stone surface. Use trivets or mats under hot dishes and objects that can scratch the surface.
- ALWAYS keep all natural stones including granite, marble, and limestone impregnated with a penetrating sealer. Sealers fill the small pores in the surface of the stone making it harder to stain. Sealing natural stone is a maintenance procedure that needs to be repeated periodically as needed.
